would it be considered rude if i said I'm not surprised that we don't have a video for this years ESA either?

just feels like we never have someone that are able to finish a video for this event,
peopl that say they will do it usually ends up with more important projects.

*GDQ always have a trailer for their event but never us.

Ah well we still has grown insanely since the first ESA with or without a video so I guess it doesn't matter.

If i get offered source material i can do my best to try and get something together, also bloodduster, any way you can finish that song, even if it's not professionally recorded maybe it sounds really cool and i'd like to use it

EDIT: I'm not a Professional video editor in any way shape or form, i know my way around a video editor though and can put some stuff together so we do have a video atleast

the thing is im trying to get the money together to actually finish getting this song done. but that will cost me 125$ so 100€ and im still looking for a way to get that together (donations in stream and stuff)

How "Helloooooooow!" can you go?

The beginning sounds mistimed somehow? I don't mean the ad lib syncopation but the way the lead guitar and the rhythm guitar sound together. Known problem? Like the harmonies. Probably because I grew up on game music I've never felt the strongest urge to real-instrumentize my tracks. (Also cause I'm not that talented as a musician myself)

Listened to some of your newer stuff (in case it is newer: Out of Glory, Scrubwars, Cleansing Silence) and... not half bad I gotta say! I think something's clicked. Ephemeral Light in the shape it was in sounded a bit too repetitive for me but those ones I can't so easily find fault in after a few listens.

Even if there's no trailer for this year (like cursed said we would apparently be having trouble with a lot more sign-ups anyway) at least we can be more prepared for next year. And it doesn't strictly have to be a trailer, it could be a kind of... postmortem summary "Every Summer Anticipations"? BTW maybe they're gonna use the version I made for Ephemeral this year (there's gonna be hype music at the start looks like) and then next year there could be a new version of it with real instruments like you're driving for here so it has a little legacy. Furthermore maybe that could be advertised during the ESA 2nd stream or something after the song has been played? Do you think that would be a good idea? In any case the strings can just be played with a synth like I said.

Just listening to the current version again: I think it holds up considering there were no professionals involved.

Cursed: you said you had photos? Why don't you upload them/share a link? Those could be montage'd in? Maybe you wanna take some more this year?

the version of Ephemeral Light is just a teaser of how it would sound like when its fully done i asked Danie Tidwell if he could do it (some of you may know him from Youtube). And well i dont know if I want to advertise my stuff on the second stream because its all about charity, people should donate for our cause and not for my stuff. If i cant make it with donations, well i just have to wait longer for it to come alive. Theres more stuff i want to have in real sound but hm yeah money and so^^

But it would be nice if we had some sort of promotional video. I cant do it cause im bad at doing video stuff xD

and yeah I'm going to do my thing this summer again.. Taking photos is just too much fun to resist ^^
only shitty thing is i have some dust in my lense so thats why i sometimes get these dark spots on my photos..

Cursed: Do you like blogging as well? Did you see my idea elsewhere about creating little day-by-day summaries of the events for a blog? As a means of documenting the event and so people can read it afterwards to get an idea what to expect of ESAs of the future.

Maybe you'd get to borrow someone's camera if we mentioned that somewhere...

hmm never tried blogging tbh, but maybe should create one for my twitch anyway
since it can be a good way to get out information to people that don't have facebook.

and yes a better camera would be really good..
I can get good pictures with my mobile but it would be a big difference with "the real deal".

Yeah, I'll be there with my Nikon D3something (can check at home if it's rea~lly required … but it's the same one I had last year.

Thing about *GDQ promo videos is that Cool Matty is creating them while being right on the *GDQ team. No-one actually felt obliged enough to properly follow the creation of an ESA promo video. I believe the general consensus was 'yeah, go ahead, it'll probably be fine', but nobody gave or got a definite OK or 'yes' ^^'

I also have an album on photobucket containing my photos from last year's ESA. Password is SwedesOfSpeed

I dont know if the video will be up to quality if we start now in such a short time period, once i'm done with most of my school work i could just try throw some stuff i can find together and see if it is acceptable(based on youguys as judges) if it's really good we can still release it i guess, but we could probably make a better product next year given we have good source material and a better timeframe

edit: i personally don't have the aftereffect skills to really make animations though(like the *GDQ megaman thing or whatever)

edit2: if possible i would like it if a staff member would contact me with some of the info that would have to be in this video(the charity we are doing, possible partnerships and their specifics, and all that kind of stuff) since the agdq2014 video is really good, i wouldn't necessarily think we really have to reinvent the wheel, and something along the lines of their video is pretty damn good.

Sure, you're a trustworthy person ^^ As long as I can have it if there are sleepers that desperately need to be photographed on cam ;)

Hi I have not read all pages but I would like to help the community and events if personnel is needed I live in Sweden and I speedrun Resistance 3 and Ratchet and Clank t-o-d and nexus I´m still working on resistance 1-2, but I have been sick lately or rather a long time now but want to help I any way I can speedrunning has been such a help during this time for me with out it I would had gone under along time ago, and that is not a exaggeration at all more understating the situation.
If more info is needed just ask and I will give it to you no problems at all.
