Okay, this has totaly convinced me that kid first is faster, so I will start doing that for now! :D

This is good.  I always thought kid second was just what was done until very recently.

Despite this though, don't any% routes go kid second because they can get more red jars from the palace entrance that way?

Any% routes also need another kind of leveling, which kid second makes alot easier.
